Why Paint?
Painting is the most cost-effective and least disruptive way to make your home or business more appealing.  Fresh paint adds value
and beauty to you home or business, giving it a fresh new look and clean appearance.  A good paint job will keep the destructive
forces of sunlight and moisture away from your underlying surfaces.

Brushing and Rolling vs. Spraying?
Basically, both spraying and brushing are fine, so long as the paint is put on at the proper spread rate (sq. ft./gallon). Spraying will
provide a smoother appearance, and less chance for mildew to get into brush marks and grow. With spraying, the painter has to be
careful about getting a full coat onto areas that are next to areas that won't be painted, so careful masking must be done. Some
people think sprayed paint will not adhere as well as if brushed and rolled, but that isn't the case, so long as the surface has been
properly prepared.

Oil-based vs. water-based paints?
While oil-based paints have been an old favorite for their durability and longevity, water-based paints have significantly closed the
gab in this area and there are other draw backs to using oil-based paints.  First of all the, the overpowering smell, the toxic VOC's
the evaporate into the atmosphere and contribute to global warming.  Oil-based paints also yellow or "amber" with age, and favorite
mildew growth over water-base paints.  Although oil-based paints are still necessary in some cases, a top-of-the-line 100% acrylic
latex paint will do the job, and if done right will give you longer crack resistance, better color retention (especially where it is sunny
on your home), and better resistance to mildew.

How does light affect color?
The type of artificial lighting in a room will affect the perception of the wall color, and should be considered when making paint
choices. Here is a quick guide to the effects of the most popular lighting sources:
Sun light is the perfect light source because the human eye has adapted to it over thousands of years.  It is characterized by having
nearly uniform intensity over the entire spectrum of colors.
Incandescent lights cast warm yellow or amber tones that can intensify wall colors.
Standard fluorescent fixtures bring out cool tones and green casts.
Warm fluorescent, while not as rich as incandescent sources, add warm casts.
Halogen lighting is bright and white and distorts color less than any other artificial light source.

How long will my paint project take?
Your home improvement contract will state how long your project will take.

Can I save money if I buy my own paint?
No.  We do not mark up the cost of materials used on your project.  In fact, as a painting contractor, we get a discount over
do-it-yourself painters from leading paint manufacturers.
